Orientation

Guayas, Guayaquil, Mono Loco Lodge, Ecuador

This is an extraordinarily relaxing and authentic place to stay in southern Ecuador if you want to enjoy chill, luxurious nights, while still traveling on a budget. It is a particularly good option if you just spent the day at the Manglares Churute Reserve or if you want to sleep somewhere outside of, but not too far from, Guayaquil. Flanked by the Churute Reserve and otherwise surrounded by local farms, the Mono Loco (crazy monkey) Lodge also has a pool, many hammocks, comfortable rooms, and a common area with a kitchen, bar, pool table, and karaoke set up. In short, it’s well equipped for total relaxation or a fun night with friends.

Note: Prices accurate as of 07/17/14 – double check Mono Loco’s site for current prices!

Guayas, Guayaquil, Mono Loco Lodge, Ecuador

HEY! Mono Loco has a rule: each guest must plant two trees during their stay. Each tree costs about $0.65. If you can’t or don’t feel like planting a tree, you must have someone plant two trees for you. Planting the trees will help reforest the area and offset the carbon you emitted flying down to South America!
