Chile

Valparaiso (aka Valpo) is a port city on the coast, about an hour from Santiago. It is most famous for being the birthplace of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Nerudo, for its colorful old buildings, and more recently, for its vibrant and ubiquitous graffiti.

Kyle and I joined about 50 other Startup Chile participants for a scavenger hunt that included looking for famous points in Valpo and other quirky things like a dog wearing a shirt, couples making out (incredibly common in public places in Chile), and a drink called a terremoto (which means “earthquake” – more on that in another post).

The scavenger hunt was fun, but not particularly blog-worthy, so I’m going to leave you with some pictures from Valpo, which is one of the most photogenic cities I’ve ever seen.
