Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia

When you arrive in Ushuaia, you’ll be picked up and transported to your downtown hotel. You’ll get the rest of the day to leisurely explore Ushuaia, and and get to know some of the local cafes, restaurants, and bars.

Day 2: Board the Expedition Vessel and Begin your Journey

Once you’ve checked out of your hotel in the mid-morning, you’ll have a little bit of time to do some last minute shopping and exploring in Ushuaia. In the late afternoon, you’ll board the expedition vessel, the Greg Mortimer, and begin your journey to the Beagle Channel.

Days 3 – 4: Crossing through Drake Passage

The Antarctic Adventure voyage continues through the Drake Passage, where you’ll get awe-inspiring glimpses of the soaring albatross and delicate petrels. You’ll then make your first stop in the South Shetlands. Then, sail down the Gerlache Strait. In this stretch of the journey, you’ll encounter the minke whales, crab-eater seals, and pack ice that make the region so iconic.

Days 5 – 7: Zodiac Cruising in Lemaire Channel

As the adventure continues through the heart of Antarctica, you’ll get the chance to visit continental landings from the historic Port Lockroy, all the way to the renowned Lemaire Channel. As you zodiac cruise among the icebergs, the inflatable boats will act as magic carpets, carrying us amid natural attractions such as incredible grounded icebergs and calving glaciers.

Days 8 – 10: Return North

The Antarctic adventure nears its end as you begin to make your way back north. Along the journey, you will see penguins, cormorants, and leopard seals on Hyrdurga Rocks. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to visit the volcanic Deception Island!

Days 11-12: King George Island and Return

After landing on King George Island, home to several scientific research facilities, you will board your flight back to Punta Arenas. You’ll enjoy one final night in town before boarding your flights home, the next day.
