Enjoy a blissful day dining on an island and rowing on a beautiful river.
At just under an hour from downtown Buenos Aires, the Tigre and Delta del Paraná is the perfect day trip getaway. The region boasts a unique lush jungle landscape reminiscent of tropical latitudes. Tigre is the intersection of two distinct geographic systems. The plains, also known as “pampa ondulada” (undulated pampa), and the delta of the Parana River. In relation to the pampas, the Delta Tigre is located in the lowlands met by water streams that feed into the Plata River. The geography of Tigre make it a perfect destination for rowing.
Exploring the area via boat is the perfect way to experience the magic of the place while partaking in some healthy exercise. These boats are made for “sweeping,” rather than rowing. The boat has two oars, one for each hand. The seat also moves back and forth, so that your legs also help propel the boat forward. There is a bilingual guide on each boat that will help you master the technique!
This tour is suitable for all ages and no previous experience is required. The itinerary is flexible as it is adjusted to the preferences and needs of travelers as well as the changing of the tides.
You will begin the day by meeting your guide at Tigre St. of Mitre Train and then walking alongside the river towards the boat warehouse. The warehouse has both restrooms and lockers that are available to you. The rivers that you’ll take may vary depending on the tides, they will be one of the following: Gambado, Abravieja, Carapachay, Angostura. You will depart from Río Luján and row towards a lovely restaurant on an island where you’ll enjoy lunch before rowing back.
