Day 1: Arriving in Buenos Aires (-/-/-)
On the first day of your Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip, your guide will meet you at the airport for a transfer from Buenos Aires international airport to your hotel located in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo, a unique place to start your journey in Argentina. Depending on the time you arrive, you’ll have the afternoon and evening to relax before the start of your trip.

Day 2: Buenos Aires Walking Tour (B/-/-)
In the morning, your English-speaking guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the main areas of Buenos Aires by public transportation (local bus/ subway) starting at Plaza de Mayo and the historical quarter. The tour includes the visit of San Telmo’s bohemian area and La Boca, visiting the famous “Caminito” street and a “Conventillo” (typical colorful houses built by immigrants).

In the evening, your guide will take you to a traditional Buenos Aires “milonga” where you can learn all about the history and evolution of tango. A “milonga” is a tango club where locals and visitors get together to enjoy music and dance. And if you get caught up in the passion of it all why not try a tango lesson yourself! Tango is a dance recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage activity and different “milongas” open on different days of the week.

Day 3: From Buenos Aires to Salta city (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires for a direct flight to the city of Salta. A driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Salta. On the third day, you will have a free afternoon. We really recommend you to visit the High Mountain Archaeological and Ethnic Pajcha museums and to immerse yourself in the ancient Inca culture of the north-west of Argentina.

Day 4: Salta to the Calchaquies Valleys – Corralito Rural Community (B/L/D)
On the 4th day of your Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip, you will set off early with your guide for a 5-hour drive through the Lerma and the Calchaquies Valleys, as well as the Shells Gorge. Tobacco farming is the main economic activity in the Lerma Valley and you will enjoy spectacular views on route. In the Shells Gorge, wind and water erosion has sculpted the rocks, creating bizarre and remarkable shapes. Once in the Calchaquies Valleys, you will meet the local community and spend two nights with the host family.

After enjoying a traditional farmers’ lunch in the Corralito community, in the afternoon, you’ll go on a trekking excursion to discover the surroundings. You will spend the night in your host family in private rooms with shared facilities.

Day 5: Corralito Rural Community lifestyle (B/L/D)
Today, you will join in with the day-to-day activities of a rural family in the heart of the Calchaquies Valleys. In addition to ecotourism activities, you will get to try your hand at preparing regional cuisine and farming work, such as growing peppers for paprika, onions, and cumin, along with goat and cattle breeding.

All meals for the day are included and you will have the opportunity to try traditional rural gastronomy and local organic wine. Alternatively, you can relax and chill out with a glass of wine in the sunshine surrounded by nature. You will spend a second night with your host family in private rooms with shared facilities.

Day 6: From Corralito to Cafayate Village (B/-/-)
Today you say bye to your host family as a new journey to discover is waiting for you ! This morning, you leave Corralito with the driver and guide to visit Cafayate, the main city of the Calchaquíes Valleys. During the afternoon, you can visit the Wine and Vine Museum and local wineries where you can taste the Torrontés, typical of this region.

Day 7: From Cafayate to Cachi village (B/-/-)
On the 7th day of your Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip, you will enjoy around 160 kilometers of beautiful landscapes between Cafayate and Cachi. You will take the Hwy 40 that crosses amazing views mixing colorful mountains, hills and isolated villages. The dusty road presents a few villages down to Molinos, one of the most charming villages in the Calchaquí Valleys. If the surroundings seem deserted and forgotten, they have been nevertheless for years a major trade route on the road to the Andes.

The village of Molinos owes its name to the mills built on the river. Arrived at Cachi, you will discover a splendid small town of colonial inheritance, where the low houses stained with white lime reigns in a peaceful atmosphere and conducive to the walk. In the central square, do not miss its church whose roof is built of cactus wood.

Day 8: From Cachi back to Salta city (B/-/-)
Back to Salta, you will go along the Route 33. You will pass through the spectacular valley of Lerma, the Quebrada de Escoipe, and discover many views of the Enchanted Valley. You will go through Los Cardones National Park, passing by the so-called “Inca Road”, the Recta Tin Tin, a name given to a perfectly straight section of Route 33, which runs for 18 km through the cactus from Los Cardones National Park. The way of this route dates back to the peak of the Inca between 1480 and 1535 and was then part of the Inca Road that ran along the Andes from Ecuador to Argentina. You will probably see the llamas spinning between cacti across the Andean plateau.

Day 9: From Salta to Iguazu, land of waterfalls (B/-/-)
The tour operator of your Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip will proceed to your transfer to the airport in Salta to catch a flight to Puerto Iguazú (direct flights do not operate daily). On arrival, you will be driven to a comfortable hotel in the city. We recommend you to visit the Hito 3 Fronteras during the evening and enjoy a light and sound show (free admission).

Day 10: Iguazu Falls – Argentinean side (B/-/-)
On day 10 of your Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip, there will be a morning pick-up from your hotel to spend the day exploring the world-famous Iguazu Falls. The small group guided day trip includes all three sections of the falls: the lower falls accessible via a boardwalk of 1.7 km (be prepared to climb a lot of stairs!), the upper falls with incredible panoramic views along a 1.2 km boardwalk; and The Devil’s Throat accessible via a boardwalk 1.1 km long. There will be time for lunch during the tour (not included) and later take the Great Adventure Navigation: a boat ride under the falls (really!) You will return to the hotel in the late afternoon. English-speaking guide, transfers and entrance fees are included.

Day 11: Brazilian side of the falls + Parque Das Aves (Birds Park) + transfer to the jungle (B/-/D)
Morning pick-up to set off for a small group excursion of the Brazilian side of the falls. The view from this side are simply breathtaking. You will walk along a path parallel to the river for 1.2 km before reaching a bridge that brings you closer to the Devil’s Throat. After the visit to the falls, you’ll have a stop on the Parque das Aves, an amazing place to discover the local birds such as toucans and parrots. This excursion includes an English- speaking guide, transfers and entrance fees. You will then return to the hotel in the afternoon. Between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, the driver will pick you up at the hotel for a private transfer to Andresito region, where you will be part of a jungle experience. The homemade dinner is included at the lodge.

Day 12: Jungle experience (B/L/D)
Enjoy a homemade breakfast to later take a walk along with a naturalist guide who will help you discover the flora and fauna of the Selva Misionera (Misiones jungle). You’ll return to the cabins for lunch and after a short break, you will take a canoe ride to observe capybaras, herons and other birds. At night, after a delicious dinner there is an option for the more adventurous: you will have the possibility to have walk to observe owls and other animals impossible to see during the day. It is a unique experience that will awaken all your senses !

Day 13: Return to Buenos Aires (B/-/-)

Today, the tour operator will proceed to your transfer from Andresito to Puerto Iguazú airport (100 km approx.) where you will take your flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 14 : Departure day (B/-/-)

It’s already day 14 and your amazing Iguazu Falls, Northern Argentina Trip has come to end ! On your last day, you will enjoy a last early breakfast and then, the tour operator will transfer you to the International Airport in Ezeiza to take your flight home.
