This mountain bike circuit passes through beautiful scenery and is most popular among those with cycling experience. The Andes Trail will take you through various beautiful landscapes and exciting physical challenges.
The Quebrada del Toro is the natural channel that connects the Lerma Valley and Puna. For thousands of years, many groups of people used it to move between places. As a result, several archaeological sites are found along this path.
A car will take you from Salta to the village of Campo Quijano, known as the Portal to the Andes. The circuit begins in the village and then continues into the first part of the gorge. In the summer, the deep canyons of this area are filled with lush vegetation.
Then you will cross bridge that forms part of the famous, engineering marvel Tren a las Nubes, or the Train to the Clouds. As you continue your journey, you will stop by Rio Blanco and El Alisal, two abandoned stations.
After a short trek, you will encounter a majestic waterfall named the Chorro Azul. Without a doubt, this is the ideal spot to stop and chat, relax and re-energize for the last half of the circuit.
The second part of the circuit is a 6 kilometer exhilarating downhill bike ride to the pick up point. Upon arriving at this point, there will be a vehicle to bring you back to Salta.
