Description

Salta Argentina was founded in 1582 by Hernando de Lerma under orders from the Toledo Virrey (Spanish crown).
Although the city is much larger today, it still maintains the colonial spirit in many of its important monuments and houses. It is known in Argentina as the city that has best preserved its architectural legacy and is a a true treat for visitors to experience. The city tour of Salta consists of walking or biking short distances between historic monuments, the city center and the surrounding area.
