Ushuaia offers an amazing mix of unforgettable landscapes, outdoor adventures, and delicious seafood. This package includes 2 nights lodging in Ushuaia, a guided hiking and canoe trip, and a cruise in the famous Beagle Channel, which is named after the ship that brought Darwin to South America.
Day 1 – Arrival in Ushuaia
Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to your hotel. You will then have the rest of the day free to explore the town, which has nice cafes, restaurants, museums, and shops where you can buy art and other souvenirs. Day 2 – Trekking & Canoeing in Tierra del Fuego National Park
The day begins with pick up at your hotel and a drive to Tierra del Fuego National Park, a protected area loaded with biodiversity, waterfalls, mountains, and glaciers. At Ensenada Bay, you will pause to enjoy the view of the Beagle Channel before setting off hiking along the coast. The six mile (9.6km) trail gives you the chance to see the park’s flora and fauna, and also remains of indigenous Yaman dwellings. After about 3 hours, you will enjoy lunch at Roca Lake and rest before hopping in a canoe! The canoe trip will go through the Lapataia River until the Lapataia Bay and into the Beagle Channel. You will get back on the road at the world’s bottom of the Panamerican Highway (which starts in Alaska and ends right where you will be!).
Day 3 – Cruise on the Beagle Channel
Today, you will be picked up at your hotel and brought to the pier, where you will board a boat for a cruise in the Beagle Channel! This trip will give you amazing views of Ushuaia Bay, as well as marine wildlife such as fur seals, cormorants, and marine birds. You’ll also enjoy a stop on one of the Bridges Isles, where you can search for giant shells (known as concheros) and see Chile and Argentina in the same panorama. The ship will also pass the famous Les Eclaireurs lighthouse, known as “the lighthouse at the end of the world” – it has been guarding the coast since 1920. The cruise includes snacks and the classic Argentinian drink, mate.
After the cruise, you will be transferred to your next destination in Ushuaia, including the airport or the bus station.
