Immerse Yourself in Maya Ruins via This UNESCO World Heritage Site

Located just across the border in Peten, Guatemala, 19 miles north of Lake Peten Itza and the quaint town of Flores, Tikal is a venue of Maya Ruins and full of historical significance. Join us on this tour as we bring you across the Belize-Guatemala border, and then visit Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Be prepared to be wowed by the beautiful scenery along the 1.5-hour drive to the park, consisting of small villages, beautiful lakeside scenery and rolling hills with rainforests and agriculture farms.

Upon arrival at Tikal, spend 4 hours touring these Maya ruins with your guide. Tikal is known for its massive pyramid temples, monumental plazas, palaces and stelae, and acts as a very significant site in the region’s history – Tikal was the most powerful metropolis in the area for many centuries and was a prominent player in the Mesoamerican trade route, extending up through Belize, into Mexico and beyond.

What’s more, get an opportunity to view wildlife – such as howler monkeys and coatis – and enjoy birding as you spy parrots, toucans and oscillated turkeys among the trees. Cap off the tour with a lunch at a local restaurant and also purchase some crafts and souvenirs before heading back across the border to Belize. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to visit this unique and impressive Guatemalan archaeological site!
