Fancy a birdwatching tour in Belize? Join us on this birdwatching tour at Pooks Hill, as we bring you on a 20-minute drive outside San Ignacio, arriving at the Teakettle area of the Cayo District. Here, you can have coffee and breakfast while being able to catch exotic bird species such as White-necked Jacobins, Band-backed Wrens, Golden-olive Woodpeckers, Purple-crowned Fairies and Green-breasted Mangos.
Besides Pooks Hill, you will also have the chance to explore “the meadow” at Actun Tunichil Muknal, a large opening in the forest where you will find species such as Smoky-brown Woodpeckers, Passerini’s Tanagers, Central American Pygmy Owls and Spectacled Owls.
Cap the entire birdwatching trip off at the Roaring River, which you will travel to via a forest trail. Here, not only can you catch unique species such as the Barred Antshrike, Dusky Antbird and Amazon Kingfisher, you can also take a dip in the river before the trip back to San Ignacio.
