Start Location: Tupiza Bolivia
End Location: San Pedro de Atacama

Itinerary

Day 1: Start your tour and see some unique geological sites

You will begin your journey around 10:00 am in Tupiza Bolivia, where the arid climate and the strong winds formed stunning rock figures. You are going to walk through the Quebrada de Palala these figures carved naturally for thousands of years can be seen. Then, you will go to Sillar viewpoint from where you are going to have an amazing point of view of these formations.

After that, you will visit the Butch Cassidy Museum in San Vincente before going to “Mirador de la Mina” and see the mining activities of the area. Your final visit of the day will be the sand hills, before going to Uyuni to spend the night.

Meals: lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Tambo Aymara in Uyuni or similar

Day 2: Enjoy the incredible Salar de Uyuni

On your second day you will explore the whole Salar de Uyuni, from the most iconic points such as the Incahuasi Island or the Ojos de Sal, to some more hidden places on the north shore such as La Cueva Chiquini, the Tunupa Volcano, or the Coquesa mummies.

Accommodation: Luna Salada in Colchani or similar

Day 3: Marvel at the Andean Lagoons

On the third day you are going to enter the vastness of the Andean deserts. First, you will visit the train cemetery in Uyuni, and you will head towards San Cristobal and Turquiri Lagoon. After lunch, you will go to Chuluncani and Korina Mine before starting to discover some amazing Andean lagoons such as Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarkota, Honda and Ramaditas. Your final stops of the day will be Siloli Desert and Partridge Eye.

Accommodation: Tayka del Desierto in Ojo de Perdiz or similar

Day 4: Keep being amazed before reaching San Pedro de Atacama

You will begin your last day on this tour by seeing the Arbol de Piedra. Then, you will get to admire the amazing Laguna Colorada, before heading to some beautiful geysers. After that, you will be able to take a bath in relaxing thermal waters. Your next stop will be the Dali Desert and its stunning landscapes. Before crossing the border with Chile at Hito Cajon, you will be able to enjoy one of the trip’s highlights, the Green Lagoon and the White Lagoon, simply wonderful. After lunch, you will head towards San Pedro de Atacama and arrive there around 16:00 pm approximately.

Transfer out: Semi Private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama 2:00 PM

  • Minimum 2 and maximum 4 passengers per car
  • Travel times and location stays may vary depending on the group; coordinate with your driver the best moments for each stop so you can make the most of this amazing place.
  • In occasional very heavy snowfalls that occur in this area in winter, between June and Augustthe authorities of one of the two countries close Hito Cajones. Then, the border pass will be transferred to Avaroa / Ollague, north of the route. In this case, additional costs will apply, and they must be covered fully by the passenger.
