How well do you know of the Villarrica National Park in Chile? Situated on a lateral arm of the Andes mountain range, this park is characterized by its volcanoes, forests, caves, rivers and lagoons. Join us on a day tour as you embark on a hiking trail to the Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon) situated inside the park.
This hiking trip will take approximately 7 hours and will bring you through the beautiful natural landscape of the national park, surrounded by ancestral araucarias with a beautiful view of the Awel Ñanku (Lanin) volcano as its major attraction. During the trail you will see forests of different types of trees such aslenga, coigüe, ñirre, and of course the impressive araucarias. – to eventually end up at Laguna Verde.
This trail to Laguna Verde was orginally part of an international border crossing, becoming an important pre-Columbian route. At present, however, it is still possible to observe the traces left by the wagons and harnesses of yesteryear. This trail’s difficulty is set at a medium to high level – and travelers who are physically not suitable to take part should not participate in this route.
