Join this four day cruise through the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, third largest in the world, located between Argentina and Chile. Protected by the Chilean National Park system, gorgeous scenery can be enjoyed from the boat or on optional excursions by hiking or kayaking with our expert guides. Kayak journeys through ice fields to four glaciers (Zamudio, Bernal, Alsina, Paredes) lets you marvel at their beauty from the water; hiking trips bring you to waterfalls, the base of glaciers and a spectacular hanging glacier. Savor the culture by eating traditional Patagonian barbecue and talking with our local guides about Kaweshkar creation stories.
Set sail from Navy Pier in Puerto Natales at 8:00, navigating the Canal de las Montañas, the Canal Valdés, and passing through Paso Kirke. At the Canal de las Montañas, you will disembark in zodiac or kayak and walk around the area to see waterfalls and a hanging glacier!
After returning to the ship, you will continue on to the Zamudio Glacier. Whether permitting, you will be able to approach the glacier by kayak and paddle around for about an hour and a half.
The journey continues to the Bernal Glacier, where you will hike for an hour and a half, followed by a traditional Patagonian barbecue at Chulengo!
After an early breakfast, you will disembark in kayaks or zodiacs to the Hermann fjord and paddle the area for 3-4 hours. Depending on weather, you will either have lunch on the ship or on the kayaks.
You will then cross the Montañas fjord on the ship and disembark at the Los Huiros Bay. Here, you can hike for as little as 40 minutes, and as long as 4 hours. Dinner on the ship around 20:00.
After an 8:00 breakfast, you will sail north to the Alsina Glacier, where you will have a chance to kayak the area. You will then take the kayaks on to the Paredes Glacier. After lunch on the boat, you will head to Canal Montañas, where you will disembark and hike for about 4 hours. Dinner on the ship around 20:00.
After breakfast, you will begin the return to Puerto Natales. En route, you will have an excellent view of the 5 glaciers and the world-class Patagonian coastline. You will arrive in Puerto Natales at approximately 20:00.
