Total Distance: 5 miles (8 kilometers)
Difficulty Level: Easy
Begin your day with 8:00 am hotel pick-up from Puerto Natales to the trailhead at Laguna Azul (Blue Lake).
At Laguna Azul, you’ll encounter flower-filled pastures, black-sand shores, and — of course — piercing blue water. Located to the east of Torres del Paine, Laguna Azul is said to have one of the park’s best views of the towers. Look up, and you’ll see spectacular snow-capped mountains and granite spires. Look down, and you’ll see them reflected in the deep blue water!
From Laguna Azul, enjoy the peaceful, easy going trail toward Laguna Cebolla (Onion Lake). As you hike, you’re sure to come across abundant wildlife. Observe herds of guanacos grazing in the tall grass nearby, and plenty of native birds flying overhead.
Upon arrival at Laguna Cebolla, you’ll enjoy views of rolling hills, lush grassland, and snowy mountains. Here, you’ll relax and enjoy a picnic lunch near the water. After you’ve had time to eat and take photos, you’ll hike back to the trailhead at Laguna Azul. Upon arrival, you’ll board your bus and return to Puerto Natales.
