Description

The puma safari begins at the Lake Sarmiento ranger station and ends at the Laguna Amarga ranger’s station. During the hike, you will have many opportunities to spot some of the park’s diverse wildlife, including pumas, guanacos, condors, and many species of birds! It is also possible to visit Aonikenk cave paintings. The Aonikenk were talented hunters indigenous to many parts of Patagonia, including what is now Torres del Paine and Tierra del Fuego.

  • This tour is available from October 1 until April 30 each year (Chilean fall through spring)
  • Maximum altitude above sea level: 150 meters (~500 feet)
  • Distance covered: 7.5 kilometers (4.6 miles)
  • Note that pumas are famously difficult to spot – your guide will do their best to find them, but we cannot guarantee that you will see pumas (also note that any company that makes that guarantee is likely either being dishonest or doing something unethical to draw the pumas out)
