A 3 day, 2 night photography-centered expedition in the stunning waters of Laguna San Rafael, with an itinerary designed for taking incredible photos of Glaciar San Rafael! New dates coming soon! Please write us to email@example.com if you would like to book this tour.
At 7:00 am, you will cast off from Puerto Aysén (from Muelle Rio Los Palos or Rio Aysén). The boat will navigate the dawn with fantastic views all around, crossing La Barra for Acantilada Bay, Isla Carmen, and Isla Partida. You will follow the footprints of the 2007 tsunami that shocked the usually seismically quiet Aysen area by ripping slices of rock face and topsoil off of the hills.
In the afternoon, you will navigate Estero Elefantes, a paradise for magic hour photography, with sunlight piercing slight cloud cover to reflect off the water and illuminate the surroundings mountains. Tonight, you will sleep on board the Patagonia I in Punta Leopardo, the antechamber of Glaciar San Rafael.
The day begins at 6:00 am, when, weather permitting, you will enter Rio Tempanos and approach Laguna and Glacier San Rafael for some photos with perfect lighting. The boat will approach from different angles so that you can get a variety of excellent photos of the stunning, centuries-old ice formation. You will top off the experience with a whiskey and an optional trip to shore for a short hike.
Once everyone is back on board, you will enjoy lunch overlooking the glacier and then head off towards Exploradores Bay, until you reach Punta Caldera, where you will drop anchor and spend the night.
At 7:00 am, you will navigate the heavenly delta of Rio Exploradores until you reach Puerto Gross. From there, you will disembark and continue the rest of the journey on land. You will first head for Puerto Tranquilo, stopping at good photo locations along the way. Here, you will be able to take a (optional) boat trip to Catedrales de Mármol, or continue on the route to the Carretera Austral until Coyhaique, or the Balmaceda airport (will only work for flights leaving after 16:00).
