Your guide will drive you between the park’s Ranger Stations, so that you can hike diverse trails and experience the park to its fullest. Discover the park more deeply with the knowledge of a passionate and experienced trail guide.
Begin your day with hotel pick-up at 8:00 and transfer from Puerto Natales to tour Torres del Paine National Park. As you drive from Puerto Natales into wild Patagonia, you’ll first stop at Cerro Castillo, a small scenic village near the entrance of the park. Here, you’ll stop for any last minute supplies and snacks you may want for the day. From Cerro Castillo, you’ll continue your drive onward to the Lake Sarmiento viewpoint. From here, you’re likely to spot alpaca-like Guanacos grazing in the surrounding grasslands.
After explore the area, you’ll head towards the Blue Lagoon viewpoint for an absolutely spectacular look at the Torres del Paine. Here, you’ll get Patagonia’s best view of the three granite spires rising from behind the crystal blue water on the horizon. After you’ve had time to capture panoramas, you’ll return to the bus and venture into the park.
Upon arrival, you’ll stop register at the Ranger Station and pay the park entry fee (not included). From the Laguna Amarga Ranger Station, you’ll begin your first hike to the Ranger Station at Lago Sarmiento. As you hike along the gentle trails, keep an eye out for wildlife — you’re likely to see llama-like guanacos, Andean condors, and other bird species. If you’re lucky, you’ll cross paths with a solitary puma on the hunt.
When you reach the Lago Sarmiento Ranger Station, your driver will pick you up and take you to the astonishing green Lake Nordenskjöld, lake Pehoe and the spectacular Salto Grande waterfall. From the van, it’s a short, windy hike up to the falls with an absolutely breathtaking view of flowering grasslands, the massive falls, and snow-capped mountains extending as far as the eye can see.
From the falls, you’ll continue along the the trail toward the Cuernos del Paine. The jagged, twisted cuernos — or horns — rise up like the head of a charging bull. You’ll hike almost to the base Cuernos del Paine and get a spectacular look from the trail’s viewpoint. You’ll continue back to the van along the same trail.
To end your exploration, you’ll head to the Pehoe and Puente Weber sector of the park, and watch the sun set from the Lake Toro Viewpoint. Here, you’ll enjoy a well-earned boxed lunch and take in the rugged, scenic panorama all around you. You’ll return to the van for the 1.5 hour drive back to Puerto Natales.
