Your trip will begin with 9:00 am hotel pick-up from San Pedro de Atacama. From there, you’ll travel about 30 minutes outside the city to the San Pedro River. Here, you’ll get outfitted with your bike and helmet and get an overview of the day and a formal introduction to your guide.
You’ll travel alongside the river until you reach the ruins at Pucara de Quitor. Here, you’ll get to check out the outstanding 12th century fort and defense system. Your guide will explain the history of the ruins and of the Atacama indigenous people who lived and thrived here long before Inca arrival in the region.
From Pucara de Quitor, you’ll ride into the heart of the Quebrada de Diablo. Here, you’ll ride along passageways in the ravine and encounter towering rock walls, waterfalls, and distinctive rock formations rising from the rocky terrain. You’ll stop to rehydrate and enjoy a complimentary snack along the way.
To end the day, you’ll return to the vehicle and drive back to San Pedro for hotel drop-off.
