This archaeological tour takes you to the ancient sites of the Likan-antai people, the native population of the Atacama Desert. You will be fascinated by the first and second settlements of the Likan-antai at the ancient village of Tulor and the stone fortress ruins of Pukará de Quitor. Tulor has been listed as one of the most endangered archaeological sites in the world and Pukará de Quitor is a Chilean National Monument. Your guide will tell you about the customs, ancestral mystic traditions, and cultural development of the Likan-antai people.
In addition to learning about the enthralling indigenous history and culture, you will also get to see spectacular desert landscapes. You will be stunned by the rocky, stark scenergy of the Catarpe Valley as you walk through a steep canyon called Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat!). To top it all off, admire the sunset and enjoy a snack as you listen to native stories.
