The Botero Museum Bogota is a magnificent art museum with artwork from the famous Colombian figurative artist and sculptor Fernando Botero as well as Monet, Renoir, Dali, and more. Fernando Botero has enchanted the world with his famous chubby characters, elements of political criticism, and refined sense of humor. Some call his unique style Boterismo.
When Botero donated his massive 208-piece art collection, composed of 123 of his own works and 85 international pieces from his private collection, a newspaper called it “The greatest gift that a Colombian has given to his country.” The collection includes 14 impressionist paintings, including oils by Monet, Renoir, Degas, and Pissarro, four Picassos, and works by Dali, Miro, Chagall, Ernst, de Kooning, Klimt, Rauschenberg, Giacometti, and Calder.
