How does a canoeing trip through the mangroves of Cartagena sound? If this sounds interesting to you, join us on a Cartagena Mangroves tour, where we will bring you on a fascinating canoe ride for a few hours through the dense mangrove forests, crossing the lagoon Cienaga de Juan Polo.
This tour will allow you to explore the stunning nature that surrounds the city of Cartagena – start by visiting the small fishing village of La Boquilla. It is here where you will take up your canoe, and start canoeing through the forest’s natural mangrove tunnels, learning different fishing techniques on the way and enjoying the abundant flora and fauna of the mangroves ecosystem.
If you are a bird-lover, then you are in luck. This is also where you will be able to observe a wide variety of birds, including green parrots on the riverbank! After a physically intensive canoe ride, you will be served a fresh cold coconut drink, and will have the chance to speak with local fishermen before heading back to Cartagena.
