Tour information

Duration: 6 hours
Start and end location: Bogota
Availability: Year-round

In your Coffee Tour Colombia experience, you will travel an hour and a half from Bogotá, going down the mountains to another region, located 5643 feet (1720 meters) above sea level. At this altitude, the cold weather of Bogotá changes into a temperate and damp climate, which provides optimal conditions for growing coffee. This region has the same architecture and traditions of the Colombian coffee axis, the most famous area of Colombia for coffee-growing. Organic plantation and production sites still operate in the region.

During your visit, you will tour the orchid gardens, learn about temperate weather vegetation, and enter the heart of the dense crop growth. There, you will witness how fruit trees contribute to the coffee’s aroma, collect coffee beans with your own hands, and see both traditional and industrial processes from seed to cup. You will also come to understand more about the traditions and lifestyle of the coffee grower population.

Once you finish learning about the process, you will take a break and eat a magnificent homemade meal of “ajiaco”, a traditional chicken soup cooked with the coffee farm’s very own seasoning. After lunch, you will have the chance to taste freshly roasted and brewed coffee, which is the result of the whole process you see.
