Itinerary

Day 1 – Fly from Bogotá to Armenia and Tour the Cocora Valley
Your Coffee Tour Salento experience starts early in the morning when our driver picks you up at your hotel in Bogotá to drive you to the airport. Your adventure starts with a flight to Armenia. Our driver will be waiting for you Armenia’s airport to take you to the amazing Cocora Valley, inside Nevados National Park.

You will have a couple of hours in the Cocora Valley for activities of your choice. The first option is remaining in the car while our driver takes you all through the valley to see palm trees, creeks, and the fog forest.  The other option is hiring a professional guide (at your own expense) to walk around the area while you learn about the local flora and fauna. A third option is renting a horse (at your own expense) to ride through the gorgeous valley.  As soon as you finish your activities, you will be taken to Reserva El Cairo, a coffee farm with more than 100 years of history and a natural and quiet environment. This is where you will stay for the night.

Day 2 – Stroll Along the Streets of Salento and Tour El Ocaso Coffee Farm
You will start the day with a tasty Colombian breakfast.  We will pick you up to go to Salento, a charming small town in Quindío. Here, you can get to know the town at your own pace, with 3 hours to walk along the cheerful and colorful streets filled with handicrafts, restaurants, colonial houses, and antique sellers. You will then walk to Alto de la Cruz where you will surely be surprised by the stunning green valleys of the coffee-farm landscape. When you walk down, you will have time to have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and continue with a tour at El Ocaso coffee farm.  Here, you will learn all about the coffee-making process: from planting to the cup.  Finally, you will return to Salento to stay the night at Posada del Café.

Day 3 – Drive along the Gorgeous Coffee Route to Medellín
After a delicious breakfast on the final day of your Coffee Tour Salento adventure, our driver will pick you up and drive you to Pereira’s bus terminal to take the beautiful Coffee Route to Medellín.  As soon as you arrive, our driver will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel in the city of eternal spring.
