After picking you up at the airport, we’ll head to Monserrate Sanctuary, located on the imposing eastern hills of the city at an altitude of 10,335 feet (3,150 meters). Ascending to the top of the mountain by cable car, you’ll reach the most famous pilgrimage point of the city and one of the best lookout points over the capital. This is by far the best spot to understand the historical and spatial context of the city.
Then you’ll head down to wander through the picturesque cobblestone streets of La Candelaria. You’ll visit the Botero Museum, which holds the works of an eccentric artist who has become the icon of Colombian contemporary art. Afterwards, you’ll stop at Chorro de Quevedo, a historic plaza, to better understand Colombian history.
After walking through La Candelaria, you’ll reach Plaza de Bolivar, the historical center of Bogotá. The main square is surrounded by administrative and governmental buildings that have become historical icons. You’ll also have the chance to enter the Prime Cathedral.
If time allows, you’ll stop at the local handicraft market downtown, where you’ll find the perfect souvenir to remember your visit. Finally, we’ll drive you back to the airport in time for your flight.
