With a history spanning more than 500 years in its 1.6 kilometers of tunnels and chambers, the Nemocon Salt Mine has risen rapidly to become one of the country’s most visited tourist attraction. This mine functioned between 1816 and 1968, where nearly 8 million tons of salt were extracted from it. Then, 38 years after closing, it reopened its doors as a tourist attraction.
