Bienvenido a Medellin, the city of eternal spring. Get ready to enjoy the sunshine as you tour Colombia for the next week. Somebody will be at the airport ready to take you to your secluded hacienda (30 minute drive). Unpack, relax and settle in. You’ll meet your guide at 3pm for a short intro and then the afternoon is yours – go for a stroll, take a dip in the pool, enjoy a massage or maybe grab a couple of cocktails. There’s a welcome BBQ at 7pm and, if you’re feeling brave enough, you can try out some Colombian salsa lessons!
Day 2 – EXPLORE THE COLOURFUL TOWN OF GUATAPE
Today you’ll head to Guatape – the most colourful town in Colombia (and that’s saying something). You’ll start early by climbing the 765 steps to the top of La Piedra where you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping panoramic views over the reservoir. After lunch there’ll be plenty of time for you do your own thing – there’s zip-lining, boat rides, water sports & more – or you could simply stroll the quirky town’s colourful streets. Tonight you’ll head to a nearby restaurant highly regarded by the locals as serving some of the finest quality food from the region.
Day 3 – SOAK IN VIEWS OF MESMERIZING MEDELLIN
Time to get up close & personal to the sizzling urban sprawl that is Medellin. You’ll start with an artisanal coffee tasting and then ride the metrocable over the mountain & into the city (the views are breathtaking). You’ll then continue with a whistle-stop tour of the city’s highlights. In the afternoon you’ll visit comuna 13 to witness first-hand the social transformation of one of the cities most notoriously dangerous zones. Later on, you’ll head to the trendy neighbourhood of El Poblado to enjoy dinner and sample the infamous Medellin nightlife!

After a busy few days, you can take today at your own pace. You can choose to simply relax by the pool and enjoy the exotic surroundings or, if you’re feeling more active, there’s horse-riding, paragliding and the option to explore Medellin more. In the evening, you’ll regroup with your guide to ‘Puebliar en Chiva’. This basically translates to riding around in a traditional Colombian bus (fully equipped with dance-floor & pumping latino beats), while stopping off at various nearby pueblos for a quick drink and a bit of people-watching. It’s a must-do tour Colombia experience!
Day 5 – HIKE AROUND THE COLOMBIAN ANDES
Today is all about getting outdoors, getting active and exploring the magnificent Andes mountains! You’ll follow a local hiking trail that meanders through the Colombian jungle while passing many rustic villages on your way there. There’s a short (3hrs) and long (6hrs) route depending on how ambitious you’re feeling. And after all that exercise you’ll spend a well deserved, relaxed evening under the stars back at the hacienda. Later on in the night, you’ll hear a local Colombian speaker talk about the country’s difficult past and it’s promising future.
