Relax into the beauty of Caño Island as you snorkel, swim, or sunbath your way through the day. Surrounded by the vast Pacific Ocean and dark volcanic rock, Caño Island is simply bursting with marine and wild life for you to discover!
One and a half hours from Punta Uvita, in the Caño Island Biological Reserve lies a hidden gem just 45 minutes by boat off the main land. Snorkelers, scuba divers, swimmers, and sunbathers alike will find Caño Island an absolute paradise. During the months of the Northern and Southern migrations (December to April and July to November) it’s possible to spot humpback whales or dolphins frolicking beside the boat. Anchoring at two different sites close to Caño Island, your snorkeling guide will help you discover the diverse species inhabiting the water just below the surface. Caño Island is surrounded by dark volcanic rock, and the ocean is bursting with a variety of marine life, such as Olive Ridley and Hawksbill Sea turtles, White-Tipped sharks, Moray eels, Mobula and Sting Rays, big Cubera Snapper, Horse-Eyed Jacks, King Angel fish, Grunts, Barracudas, and so much more.
Want a break from snorkeling? Sunbath on the beach and relax before the group heads to Violines, a stunning white sand beach. Have another snorkel, take a quick dip in the Pacific Ocean, or relax under coconut trees while lunch is prepared. After a lunch of tropical fruits, drinks, salads, sandwiches, and cookies, either relax some more or observe the Macaws and White-Faced monkeys living in the almond trees beside the beach. You will arrive back at the hotel around 17:00 pm.
