Itinerary

Your day begins at the docks of the Punta Uvita beach at 7:30 am, where a boat will take you on a 1.5 hour ride to the San Pedrillo Ranger Station at Corcovado National Park. Upon arrival, you will prepare for the day’s two hikes and set off into this gorgeous natural treasure! During the boat ride, depending on the season, visibility, and luck, you may see whales, dolphins, turtles, and marine birds.

The first hike takes about 3.5 hours, the second takes about 1.5 hours and leads you to a waterfall. During the hikes, your bilingual naturalist guide will help you try and spot some of the many exotic species that inhabit the park, including:

  • Howler monkeys
  • Spider monkeys
  • White-faced capuchin monkeys
  • Coatis
  • Sloths
  • Tapirs
  • Racoons
  • A huge variety of birds
  • A huge variety of flora

Between hikes, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at the ranger station.

You will return by boat to Punta Uvita, arriving at the dock around 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm.

The tour was good. Since the booking involved several intermediaries the process after booking (getting the booking confirmed after payment, getting information about the tour operator and tour details) however unfortunately was quite time consuming and involved several email reminders. Thus not suitable for last minute bookings! Also, make sure to bring a dry set of clothes for the hike as you will get extremely wet during the boat ride from Uvita to Corcovado in the case of rain or waves. There are possibilities to change once you arrive at the ranger station to start the hike in dry cloths.

      Hi Katharina,
Thank you for the feedback on the booking experience. We are always trying to improve the fluidity of communication between customers and local guides, and in some cases, there are still too many steps between the two. We will keep working on this so that future customers have a smoother booking experience. Also, that is great advice about the change of clothes – we just added it to the tour page as a recommendation!
      Cheers,
      Jack
