Finish the day at the Lankester Botanical Gardens, which has one of the largest orchid collections in Central America and a huge variety of plants and flowers.

You will then climb part of the Irazu Volcano – the tallest in Costa Rica (at 3,420 meters) – and admire its fascinating, lunar landscape. The hike continues to Paraiso de Cartago and the Orosia Valley, home to the Cachi hydroelectric plant and the ruins of the Ujarras parish and the Orosi colonial church – two of the oldest in the country. The tour concludes with a visit to the Lankester Botanical Gardens, which house a large variety of plants and flowers, including one of the largest orchid collections in Central America.
