The tour starts at the entrance to Marino Ballena Park, covering a small section of Playa Uvita beach before entering the trail near the Whale’s Tail. During the hike you will see a variety of vegetation, birds, and other wildlife in the mangroves and lagoon. Your knowledgeable guide will show you unique features of the park, explain the history of the area, and the relationship of the fragile ecosystems over a 2.5-3 hour hike. You will spot insects, plants, Howler monkeys, White Faced monkeys, bats, raccoons, and many types of marine and forest birds. Perhaps you’ll even spot a crocodile or alligator at the mouth of one of the rivers that brings water into the park. You will return by the beach if tide and weather conditions permit.
