Rincon de la Vieja National Park is part of the Area de Conservación Guanacaste World Heritage Site and is home to three volcanos: Santa Maria, Rincon de la Vieja, and Cerro Von Seebach (which is dormant). It is also home to over 300 species of birds including quetzales, emerald toucanets, and eagles, and curassows. There are also many species of mammals, including: monkeys, jaguars, cougars, and kinkajous.
The park is one of Costa Rica’s best hiking destination, with high quality trails, great weather, and incredibly diverse flora and fauna. Your guide will help you spot species, and explain how the residual volcanic activity in the area effects the ecosystem.
