Explore the country of Ecuador by embarking on this multi-day tour that will take you from Cuenca to the Devil’s Nose to the famous Banos, Amazonian rainforest and back!
Visit some of Ecuador’s most beautiful and interesting destinations with community guides by experiencing the Ingapirca (an Incan archeological site) and the ‘Devil’s Nose’ train. On this multi-day tour you will be able to explore the ruins of Ingapirca, view the stunningly beautiful vistas upon the ‘Devil’s Nose’ train and end your multi-day adventure by relaxing at the natural hot springs and visiting the awe-inspiring ‘Pailon del Diablo’ waterfall close to the Amazon rainforest.
Cuenca, Ingapirca and Davil’s Nose Train
You will have a tour guide pick you up at your hotel or assigned meeting spot in the morning. With a 1.5 hour drive you will arrive at the Incan site of Ingapirca with your guide and be given time to explore the area so you can learn about the traditional Incan site. Later in the afternoon you will be able to enjoy the beautiful highlights of Ecuador with a drive into Alausi. The town of Alausi is known for the ‘Devil’s Nose’ train which is a world-wide known engineering feat.
Once you eat lunch you will then board this famous train for an awe-inspiring ride of about 2.5 hours and arrive at the train station of Sibambe where you will immerse yourself in the rich cultural folklore of the locals.
You will then end the day by returning to Alausi.
Alausi – Riobamba – Baños
Start the day by departing from Alausi. The first stop of the day will be in a little town named Colta where the first church in the entire country was built. Later, you will then be given time to take pictures of the beautifully snow capped mountains of Tunguragua or Chimborazo.
Later, we will arrive in Banos, check in and all guests will have the afternoon to relax in the hot springs or explore the city and it’s surrounding.
Dinner will be provided.
Waterfalls route & Amazon rainforest
Day 3 will start with 1.5 hour drive and a small hike to visit the ‘Treehouse.” A winner of the National Geographic photo contest. Later in the afternoon, you will hike to the ‘Pailon del Diablo’ waterfall and be able to explore the area. Lunch will be provided.
The day will then end with a drive to Puyo to get access to the Amazonian rainforest and visit a rescue center where you will be taken through the various flora and fauna of the area.
End the day with a return to Banos and free dinner.
