Important Notes

  • Weather: A national weather forecast does not exist, as the weather in the Andes is extremely local and fast-changing. The weather in the crater is also very different from the weather in Quito. Very roughly, rainy season runs from November to April/May, dry season from June to October, but it can always rain in the dry season and be totally dry for weeks in the rain season. If sunny, the sun is very strong and intense. If raining, it typically rains in the afternoon when we’re finished or nearly finished with the ride. The rainy season is especially nice, as the landscape is greener, lush, and more flowers. Therefore, the only correct answer to this question is: always bring good sun- and rain-protection for the ride.
  • Calculate a temperature variation between 5 and 30 degrees Celsius.
  • Maximum rider weight 90kg or 200 pounds, on 8-day-ride 85 kg.
  • Instructions from the guide must be followed. Anybody who continually disrupts the group and does not follow the guide’s instructions and endangers safety must reckon with the possibility of expulsion from the tour with no tight to a refund.
  • Tour reservations for the trekking expeditions should be made so early as possible
  • In case of booking cancellations, the following fees will apply:
Cancellation over 6 weeks before the ride: We charge 10% administration fee.
Cancellation between 21 and 45 days before the ride: 20% of the trip price
