Pichincha is an active stratovolcano in the country of Ecuador, whose capital Quito wraps around its eastern slopes. The two highest peaks of the mountain are Wawa Pichincha – 4784 meters (15696 feet) above sea level and Ruku Pichincha – 4698 meters (15405 feet) above sea level. Start/ End Location: Quito, Ecuador
For this tour, you will start off from the parking lot, 15 to 20 minutes by car from Quito. From there, you will ride a cable car for about 15 minutes up to the trailhead, where you will then start a 1.5-hour hike to the base of a steeper and narrow ridge. Then, you will continue on for another 3 hours, hiking upwards and passing by some sections of very interesting drops and cliffs.
You will return to Quito in the afternoon and then be driven to the town of Machachi, where you will have dinner and call it a night.
