Cuenca – Saraguro – Vilcabamba
The tour will start early in the morning. After a 2 hour drive through the Southern Andes and a couple stops to enjoy views, you will end the drive in Saraguro where an indigenous tour guide will be waiting to share his culture. On the tour you will visit workshops in their village and learn about the various ways these indigenous people make a living.
Later on, we will continue to Vilcabamba, known to be one of the best places to relax.
Full day in Vilcabamba
The area of Vilcamba is known as an area full of various activity options. More adventurous people can go horse-back riding, biking or hiking around while others may just stay in the hotel to relax and use their facilities on hotel premises.
Vilcabamba – Podocarpus – Loja
After eating breakfast you will be taken to the Podocarpus National Park where you will be guided on a hike through the beautiful cloud forest to a view point on the top of a hill to receive a stunning view of the beautiful Southern Andes. Later on, your guide will take you to Loja to visit some of the well-preserved colonial houses in the area, including the San Sebastian neighbourhoods.
