Your adventure will begin with hotel pick-up and transportation to El Ocote Biosphere Reserve. Upon your arrival, you’ll meet your guide and set out along the La Venta River for Aguacero Falls.

Throughout the day, you’ll observe abundant flora and fauna, learn about and identify local wildlife with your guide, and hike to a spectacular overlook for views of the La Venta River Canyon.

Upon arrival at Aguacero, you’ll descend into the canyon where you’ll have the opportunity to walk beneath the falls, explore small caves, and wade in the water. After enjoying a snack at the falls, you’ll continue back along the same trail.

Important Notes

  • The El Ocote Reserve guided hike is easy to moderate. Trails are mostly flat. Inclines and descents are made via stairs.
  • This experience is not recommended for persons over 60 years of age, pregnant women, or children under 7 years of age.
