Day 1 – Take a Puebla Tour & Explore Tejuacan-Cuicatlan Reserve
Your tour will begin with 7:30 am hotel pick-up in Mexico City and transfer to the beautiful city of Puebla (located in the State of Puebla). Puebla is known for its outstanding history and throughout day, you’ll enjoy learning local stories and legends about Puebla’s fascinating past. Stop at the historic Zocalo Square, the colonial-era Cathedral the Church of Santo Domingo, and more.
Later, stop by the vibrant Callejon de Los Sapos — Frog Alley — and enjoy strolling along colorful colonial homes, past eclectic antiques shops and street vendors. In your free time, stop at a local restaurant for Puebla’s classic cuisine.
In the afternoon, you’ll head to the village of Zapotitlan de las Salinas, located within the Tejuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve, where you’ll spend the night. Settle into your quiet, rustic cabin, then head to a nearby restaurant serving a locally-sourced, traditional meal.
Day 2 – Enjoy Pre-Historic Fossils & Helias Bravo Botanical Garden
Enjoy breakfast Zapotitlan de las Salinas before packing up and heading to San Juan Raya at around 10:00 am. Here, you’ll get to see a massive dinosaur footprints preserved in the rock, and enjoy the rest of the morning walking nearby trails or visiting the local fossil museum.
Afterwards, you’ll return to Zapotitlan for lunch (included) and then move on to Helias Bravo Botanical Garden, home to one of the largest collections of cacti on Earth. As you explore the gardens on a guided tour, you’ll learn about the multiple domestic and medicinal uses of local plants.
In the afternoon, you’ll leave the Botanical Gardin and head back to Mexico City. You should arrive at your hotel in Mexico City at around 19:00 pm.
