Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours
Start and end location: Rio Lagartos
Availability: Year-round, with daily departures between 7:00 am and 16:00 pm
On these Rio Lagartos Tours, you will start by exploring an estuary in the Rio Lagartos Reserve. First you will pass under the De La Colorada Bridge to reach the flamingo feeding area. We will try to get as close as possible so you can take fantastic pictures. As you visit the area where flamingos feed, you can also observe herons, pelicans, cormorants, eagles, hawks, and magnificent frigatebirds, among others. If you are lucky, you can spot crocodiles. Both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles call this area home.
Next, you will go to a salt production area where you can appreciate the pink waters of Las Coloradas. After that, you will travel to a small clay beach to take an exfoliating mud bath. The clay softens skin, acts as a sunscreen, and repels insects. Let the clay sit on your skin for about 20 minutes, then wash it off at a beach. Finally, you will return to the pier. You can take another shower there with fresh water, if you like.
After you book your experience, you will receive a confirmation email from us confirming that your payment went through. You will then be connected directly to the tour operator, in case you have any further questions. We are also happy to answer any questions about the tour, or travel in general in your country of destination.
