Day 1 – Arrive to Cancun’s Airport and Check In to Your Hotel
Once you arrive to the Cancun Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. For the following nights, you will stay at Hotel Beachscape or similar.
Day 2 – Soak up the Sun at the Beach and Journey into the Jungle for Activities
First up on your Riviera Maya Attractions Tour, you will have time to relax at the beach. Then, after lunch, you will go into the Mexican jungle near Puerto Morelos. There, you have a choice between two activities: snorkeling in a cenote or driving an ATV.
Day 3 – Experience the Natural Beauty of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve
Your Riviera Maya Attractions Tour continues as you explore Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, you will kayak through the wetlands, hike through the jungle, and snorkel in a cenote. You will also learn about why Mexico’s national protected areas are so important. You will have the opportunity to participate in one of the several conservation projects at the biosphere reserve. In the afternoon, you will have a late lunch in Tulum at Don Cafeto.
Day 4 – Explore the Archaeological Site of Chichen Itza and Admire the Ik Kil Cenote
Today, you will get to visit the incredible ancient ruins of Chichen Itza. The site is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will tell you all about the majestic site’s history as well as broader Mayan culture and traditions. Climb to the top of one of the famous pyramids for a view and memory you will remember for the rest of your life! What’s more, you’ll visit the Ik Kil Cenote in the eco-archaeological park, in the jungle close to Puerto Morelos.
Day 5 – Swim with Whale Sharks in Summer or Visit the Coba and Tulum Ruins in Winter
Today’s tour options depend on the season. During the summer (mid-May to mid-September), you can go on a whale shark adventure! You will be able to swim and snorkel with the biggest fish in the world. These gentle giants eat only plankton and can grow to incredible sizes. During the winter (mid-September to mid-May), you will get to visit the archaeological sites of Coba and Tulum. In ancient times, these two cities were important to the whole Yucatan Peninsula. You’ll learn about authentic Mayan culture and traditions as you visit the two sites.
Day 6 – Enjoy a Fun Day at the Eco-Archaeological Park Xcaret
Learn about Mayan culture and traditions as you explore the eco-archaeological park of Xcaret, meaning “small cove” in Mayan. The park also serves as a conservation project for local flora and fauna and is home to a variety of tropical animals and plants. In addition to water attractions and a lovely beach, the park has an archaeological site called Polé. After enjoying all the fantastic activities available at Xcaret, you will be transported back to the Carmen Hacienda Hotel in Puerto Morelos.
Day 7 – Go to the Cancun Airport
After breakfast, your Riviera Maya Attractions Tour will come to an end as you are dropped off at the Cancun Airport to catch your return flight.
