On this relaxing and recharging tour of Merida’s San Crisanto Beach, travel through two charming coastal communities to reach an ecotourism cooperative along Mexico’s rural shoreline. Here, take a boat ride through a mangrove forest to reach a beautiful, crystal blue waterhole. Take a dip into the clear water, and swim to the sound of native birds and distant waves.
After exploring the rest of cooperative by boat, travel to the pristine San Crisanto Beach to enjoy a locally-sourced seafood lunch with outstanding ceviche! In the afternoon, dive into a good beach read or into the calm, turquoise waters off the Yucatan Peninsula.

Start/End Location: Hotel pick-up in Mérida
Your day begins with 8:00 am pick-up from your hotel in Mérida to the Esmeralda Coast. Pass through small coastal villages to arrive at the ecotourism cooperative’s dock by 9:30 am. Meet your bilingual guide, board the boat, and begin your tour of the mangrove forest. The tour will last approximately 2 hours and take you to a hidden waterhole.
At 11:45 am, you’ll transfer from the cooperative to a nearby beach where you’ll enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on the beach. After your meal, you’ll have time to enjoy the Maya Coast until 15:00 pm, when you’ll head to the van and return to Mérida by 16:00 pm.
