Enjoy Marine Encounters and Go Swimming with Wild Dolphins

Experienced marine scientists will guide your hands-on Swimming with Wild Dolphins adventure along the coast of Mazatlan. During the trip, you’ll learn about marine ecosystems and gain insight into the lives of dolphins while collecting scientific data for current research and conservation projects.

When you encounter dolphins, the crew will take photographs of the dolphins’ dorsal fin natural markings that aid identification. You’ll also observe them as they collect data and deploy hydrophones to record dolphin whistles.

Once data has been collected, you’ll have the chance to swim with wild dolphins if sea conditions permit! Since the dolphins are wild and untrained, you’ll have to follow their lead. Sometimes they are curious and initiate interaction, and other times not so much. Regardless, simply being in the water with them and watching them swim gracefully through the blue ocean will be an unforgettable experience.

In addition to dolphins, there is always a good chance of close encounters with other fascinating marine life during the trip. You’ll have fun trying to spot sea turtles, sea lions, manta rays, and a great diversity of marine and coastal birds. As an added bonus, you’ll also get to visit some of the best snorkeling locations near the Venados and Pájaros Islands.
