Chichén Itzá, in the Mayan language, means “the mouth of the well of the shamans of the water” and was the most important city between 900 AD. and 1200 AD. Join us on a Chichen Itza Tour as we bring you to explore the beauties of this city.
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the 7 wonders of the world, the pyramid of Kukulkán in Chichén Itzá is also known as “The Castle” – and together with the temple of the warriors, the ball court, the astronomical observatory and the complex of the nuns, the ceremonial character of the city is very well reflected within. At the equinoxes of Spring (21 March) and Autumn (21 September), an effect of light and shadow projects a snake silhouette descending on the balustrade of the north stairway of The Castle, symbolizing the beginning of agricultural work before the raining season.
To end off the trip to this marvelous castle, you will also have the opportunity to visit the cenote of Ikkil.
