All of these communities are full of lovely people with unique cultures surrounded by fascinating and diverse flora and fauna. It is a singular cultural and natural experience.

Day 1: City of Matagalpa and Community La Corona
You start with a tour designed to experience daily life in this important city. You visit historical and cultural sites in Matagalpa followed by a tour of a chocolate factory where you can watch the manufacturing process of organic locally grown cacao and taste one of the best chocolates in Nicaragua.
In the afternoon you visit La Corona, a nature-filled community that produces Fair Trade coffee to tour the coffee plantations and participate in the collection process and pulping of this important crop.
Overnight in Matagalpa
Day 2: Indigenous Community El Chile
El Chile is an indigenous community rich in history and culture known for it’s weaving workshops. You’ll see the process of making products such as wallets, purses and backpacks using traditional indigenous techniques. Next enjoy a walk through the community and climb to the viewpoint of Cerro El Chile for a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains. You will share a traditional lunch with a local family and have a tour of their home giving you an inside look at their lifestyle. Overnight in Matagalpa.
Day 3: The Tobacco Tour in Estelí
After breakfast it is time to depart for Estelí, to visit the most important sites of this historic city then see tobacco production. You’ll learn the entire process from planting to the manufacturing of prestigious export cigars. In the afternoon you leave cultivated lands for Tisey Estanzuela Nature Reserve with it’s delightful climate and pure environment. Overnight in Nature reserve Tisey – Estanzuela.
Day 4: Nature Reserve Tisey – Estanzuela
Your final day visit La Garnacha, a cooperative community producing different types of cheese and organic non-traditional vegetables. Also, visit the farm El Jalacate, where Don Alberto Gutierrez, a born sculptor, has turned every stone into a work of art. Enjoy trails through the forest, breathtaking viewpoints and bask in the waterfall La Estanzuela. After lunch you transfer to Matagalpa where the tour ends.
