Join us on a 5 days 4 nights hiking trip in the mountainous range of Garachine, located in the province of Darién of eastern Panama, where not only you may get to see a good view of the nest of the Harpy Engle, but you will also get an invaluable opportunity to share with the Playa Los Muertos indigenous community and get to understand their daily lives.
Part of the trip involves camping in the forest, but a bigger part will see you hiking through the mountain range of Garachine, ascending and descending the slopes of Cerro Sapo. This trip is not for the faint hearted, but it will be an incredible and unforgettable experience.

Duration: 5 Days 4 Nights
Start/End location: Panama City, Panama
On the first day, be picked up at your hotel in Panama City to be transported to the province of Darién in east Panama. You will have lunch at a local restaurant afterwhich a briefing of the trip, where you will review your own equipment and also collect the equipment provided by the tour operator. You will stay the night at a local hotel.
The next morning, you will depart for Puerto Quimba, stopping by at a local restaurant for lunch halfway before continuing towards Sambú. Upon arrival, you will take a stroll towards Playa Los Muertos, and if the weather permits, you will get a good view of the nest of the Harpy Eagle. You will end the night by setting up your camping tent in the forest and staying the night in there.
On the third day, after breaking down your tent, you will continue hiking – this time through a more difficult part, where you will have to hike through the mountain range of Garachine, ascending and descending the slopes of Cerro Sapo. It will not be easy, but it will be an incredible experience.
On the fourth day, you will have time to meet the Playa Los Muertos indigenous community, where they will share with you a delicious seafood meal. You will also have the chance to visit the beach and the waterfall of the community, before making a bonfire at night to further bond with them.
The last day will see you embarking on your return journey, eventually arriving back in Panama City.
