You will head to the Indigenous Village and Monkey Island by leaving Panama City behind and heading to the town of Gamboa, located near the terminus of the historic Camino de Cruces and where Chagres River meets Lake Gatun. From here you will board a small boat and enter into the shipping lane of the Panama Canal, where you will pass by ocean-going vessels mid-transit, on your way to explore the immense diversity of wildlife within waterways the Soberania National Park, including monkeys and exotic birds!
Later, you will visit an authentic indigenous village, home to the Wounaan, where we will learn about their history, local traditions, and customs. You can take a short hike through the rainforest as well to learn about the many uses of the local indigenous plants.
