Visit and support a rural community that is home to a beautiful beach and hundreds of sea turtles. A nesting site for turtles during the turtle season (Mid-July to December) Isla Cañas is renowned for its peoples hospitality towards tourists.

Do something truly different and learn about the local lives while enjoying the beautiful beaches, mangroves and local Isla Cañas culture in the western side of Panama.

Itinerary

Day 1

10:00 am Arrive at Isla Cañas

Ride on boat to arrive in Isla Cañas

Arrival to your private Cabana. Room with air conditioning and private bathroom

12:00 pm Eat a typical Panamanian lunch in Isla Cañas

1:00 pm5:00 pm Enjoy the day in a nearby area called Panchama, you will be able to enjoy kakaying, surfing, body boarding or volley ball!

5:30 pm: Late afternoon tour of local mangroves

7:00 pm: Dinner in Isla Cañas

8:00 pm: Sea turtle observation at night (Only during Turtle Season Mid-July to end of December)

Day 2

8:00 am Breakfast

10:00 am Leave from Isla Cañas

Important Notes

Please take in consideration that Isla Cañas is a rural local community and that there are no hotels in the area. The rooms offered to guests are family guest-rooms that have been equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning and private bathrooms. It is the system that the rural community has put together for visitors. With your visit you will be helping with the economic development of the area as there are many local families who work as guides, kayakers, restauraunt owners etc. in Isla Cañas.

** Turtle activities will be substituted for other activities during the non-turtle season
