Day 1: Depart Ollantaytambo, Bike, and Sink into Hot Springs
Today, you’ll set out from Ollantaytambo towards Abra Malaga. Here, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable bicycle tour on the Abra Malaga high-mountain pass — considered one of the most beautiful rides in all of South America. The trip is completely downhill on paved roads and provides breathtaking views of the Veronica Glacier, cascading waterfalls, and the even the Amazon River Basin.
Travel to nearby hot springs for a well-earned soak in the steaming water. Spend the night in lodge at Santa Teresa.
Day 2: Zip-line and Hike to Machu Picchu
Today, you’ll enjoy the morning zip-lining through the jungles Santa Teresa or taking a morning coffee tour of a nearby plantation. In the afternoon, you’ll set out on a short hike through stunning wilderness to arrive at Aguas Calientes (the pueblo just outside of Machu Picchu.) You’ll sleep there for night.
Day 3: Explore Machu Picchu
Today you’ll have time to explore the outstanding Inca city of Machu Picchu. Learn about the history of this massive and powerful empire from your expert guide. In the afternoon, you’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
