Duration: 11.5 hours (6:30 am-18:00 pm) Start and end location: Cusco Availability: Year-round
6:30 am – After being picked up at your hotel, you will go to the Calca local market. There, you will get the picnic supplies and learn about local products. You also have the option of having a light Andean-style breakfast in the Market of Small Producers.
7:30-11:30 am – Hike for 4 hours up Pitusiray Mountain. You can ride a horse up the mountain with advance notice of at least 3 days and an additional charge of 60 Peruvian soles. As you hike or ride, appreciate unforgettable views of the Sacred Valley.
12:00-15:00 pm – Enjoy a delicious picnic on the shores of Lake Qan Qan. Spot local birds and even condors as they fly in the beautiful mountain landscape. Listen as your guide tells you Incan myths.
15:00-17:30 pm – Walk down to a meeting point, where you will be picked up in a car.
17:30-18:00 pm – Drive back to your hotel.
1 light Andean breakfast, 1 picnic, snacks, and a water bottle

If you like, you can ride a horse instead of hiking. For this option, you must give advance notice of at least 3 days before the tour date. There is an additional fee of 60 Peruvian soles per horse (about $18 USD).
