Day 1 – Hike the Inca Trail and Rest at the Campsite in Ayapata
You Inca Trail 4 Days tour starts as you are picked up by 4:20 am and driven by private car for 3 hours to the beginning of the Inca trail. After a breakfast at the trail head, you will start your hike of the famous Inca trail. The day’s hike will last 8 hours, covering a distance of 10 miles (16 kilometers) and ascending from 8,530 feet (2,600 meters) to 10,827 feet (3,300 meters) above sea level. As soon as you get to the campsite, you will enjoy some tea, rest, and have dinner by 19:00 pm.
Day 2 – Trek to Dead Woman Pass and Pacasmayo Chaquiccocha
After some refreshing coca tea in your tent and breakfast, you will hike uphill for 2 hours to Dead Woman Pass. You will stop to rest, admire the view, and take photos before heading downhill for another 2 hours to the lunch location. Nice and full from a delicious lunch, you will then hike another 2 hours uphill to the second mountain pass, which is the last pass on the Inca trail. Next, give your legs a break with a downhill 1.5-hour walk to the campsite. At the campsite, you will enjoy tea and dinner by 19:30 pm. This day’s hike comes to 9 hours, covering 11.2 miles (18 kilometers).
Day 3 – Relax on a Gentle Hike and Explore the Inca Fortress of Wiñayhuayna
After an energizing breakfast, you will embark on the day’s hike. This day includes 5 hours, 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) of gentle and downhill hiking. You will enjoy lunch at the campsite, then spend the afternoon at the famous Inca fortress Wiñayhuayna. After exploring the fortress, you will return to the campsite for dinner.
Day 4 – See the Marvelous Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco
The last day of your tour starts bright and early at 3:30 am, with breakfast by 4:00 am. At 5:30 am, you will meet the park ranger and hike for 1 hour and 45 minutes to the sun gate, with spectacular views of Machu Picchu. There will be an hour of gentle downhill walking to Machu Picchu, then a guided tour. To finish off your Inca Trail 4 Days tour, you will catch a train in Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, then go by car to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
