Go on a 3-day Inca Trek to discover Huchuy Qosqo and Machu Picchu, two of the most important Inca sites in Peru. Walk in the footsteps of the Inca as you hike along with your experienced tour guide. Enjoy stunning views of the archaeological sites and the terraced countryside during the day. Sleep comfortably in a tent one night and a hotel the other. Day One – Hike to Tambomachay and Huchuy Qosqo and Enjoy Lunch by a Lagoon
Your Inca trek starts at 5:30 am as you are picked up and driven in private transportation for 30 minutes to the starting point of the Tambomachay hike. After breakfast at the trailhead, you will hike for 4 hours to the lunch spot. You will have lunch beside a beautiful lagoon, with a view of stone houses with thatched roofs. After a satisfying lunch, you will hike for another 4 hours to the campsite, which is next to the Inca complex of Huchuy Qosqo, at at altitude of 11,975 feet (3650 meters) above sea level. To finish off the day, you will have afternoon tea and dinner by 19:00 pm.

Day Two – Explore Huchuy Qosqo and Take the Train to Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, you will have time to explore the outstanding archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo and take plenty of photos of the Inca buildings with their interlocking walls and farming terraces. You will have an hour tour of the Inca city, then start hiking downhill for 2 hours to Lamay. You will take an hour-long bus ride to Ollantaytambo, a town famous for more Inca dwellings and warehouses attached to the slopes of the mountains. After a nice dinner, you will take the train to Aguas Calientes to stay overnight in a hotel.

Day Three – Watch the Sunrise and Take a Guided Tour at Machu Picchu
You will wake up at 4:30 am to take a 30-minute bus ride with your private tour guide to Machu Picchu. There, you will have a guided tour for a couple of hours and then another couple of hours of free time to explore.

Then, you will take the bus down again to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch (not included). Finally, your Inca trek will come to an end as you take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then drive to Cusco, arriving around 19:30 pm to your hotel.

  • The total hiking distance on this tour is 12.4 miles (20 kilometers) with 8 hours, 10 miles (16 kilometers) on the first day and 2 hours, 2.4 miles (4 kilometers) on the second day.
  • Another option for your free time on Day 3 at Machu Picchu is climbing up Huaynapicchu Mountain (2 hours round trip). If you would like to do this, please let us know in advance at Reservations and an entrance fee are required, and the number of people are limited.
